Dentures are used when the gaps in the dentition are so large that other fixed dentures are no longer possible.
The simplest method of dentures are removable dentures if one or more teeth are missing. In the form of partial dentures with and without clasps or total dentures. Partial dentures with visible clasps are less aesthetic but the cheapest. Dentures without clasps snap onto a counterpart.
In terms of esthetics and hold, model cast dentures are more advantageous than clasp dentures because they cannot be fixed visibly to crowned teeth.
Total dentures do not have an optimal hold in the lower jaw. In the upper jaw it is slightly better. Therefore, more and more preference is given to an implant-supported denture because it has a firm hold on the implants.
The prosthesis should be cleaned twice a day.
